After a week of no points racing, the Super DIRT Car Series heads to Brewerton Speedway for the first time this season for the Duel at the Demon 100.

Larry Wright enters the race as the most recent winner in Super DIRT, recording his third triumph of the season last weekend at Autodrome Granby. It was Wright’s third win of 2019.

Per usual, Matt Sheppard will be one of the drivers to beat, coming into Brewerton winning eight of 15 points-paying races this season with a 136-point advantage over Mat Williamson. But the battle for third in points is heating up as the season begins to wind down. Erick Rudolph is currently sitting third, Billy Decker is four points back in fourth and Wright is coming in behind him.

Last season, Shepherd worked his way up from a ninth-place starting position to make a last-lap pass on Pat Ward to claim the victory. Series regulars Rudolph and Wright were also among the top five.

Friday’s (Sept. 13) race at Brewerton kicks off a long weekend of racing. With only three races remaining on the Super DIRTcar schedule before Super Dirt Week begins on Wednesday, Oct. 9. This Saturday (Sept. 14), teams will make the three hour trip north to Mowhawk International Raceway, which sits near the Canadian border. On Sunday (Sept. 15), teams will head to Cornwall Motor Speedway in Ontario, Canada, to make up a rain date from June 30.

After this weekend, it’ll be a good barometer of who’s going to finish where in points. So fasten then seatbelts, it’s going to be a good one.
