Super DIRTcar Series points leader Matt Shepherd has been a roll lately, and he looks to continue the hot streak on Tuesday (July 30) at Sharon Speedway.

Shepherd is coming off back-to-back victories at Autodrome Granby and Sunday’s Hall of Fame 100 at Weedsport Speedway, his sixth series win of 2019 in 13 races.

At Weedsport, Shepherd finished just ahead of Erick Rudolph, despite starting 11th in the race. Mat Williamson finished third, running in the top three all night, after starting on the outside of the front row. Jimmy Phelps and Larry Wright rounded out the top five.

The series returns to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, for the first time since 2017 this week. Two years ago, Peter Britten drove from 20th starting position to the lead, ultimately winning the race, with Rudolph finishing just behind in second. Stewart Friesen finished third in the event, as Billy Decker and Pat Ward filled the top five.

Shepherd, on the other hand, finished ninth at Sharon two years ago. In order to secure his third consecutive victory this season, the No. 9s will need to improve at the 3/8-mile track. He did, however, win his qualifying heat.

It’s a busy week for many drivers in the Super DIRTcar Series. Following Sharon on Tuesday, the series heads to the famed Eldora Speedway for the Eldora Dirt Derby on Wednesday (July 31). On Thursday (August 1), most will compete in the Eldora Invitational, just prior to the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series take to the track, in which Friesen will be one of the favorites to win.

Over the weekend, most drivers will compete throughout the northeast, at tracks such as; Ramonsville Speedway, Land of Legends Raceway and Utica Rome Speedway. With NASCAR in Watkins Glen this weekend, Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY, will also be a hot spot.

You can catch all the action on Tuesday night on FloRacing, with racing action beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
