After starting from the fourth position on Monday night (July 22), Erick Rudolph is looking to go two-for-two in Canada this week. However, NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series driver Stewart Friesen is looking for redemption, as the Canadian driver led the most laps at Autodrome Drummond, only to finish as the runner-up.

Friesen and his No. 44 Halmar Racing team heads to Granby as the defending winner. Following this week, his Truck schedule gets a bit busy, as the series will be on the road for five consecutive weeks, a season-long for the teams. One of the stops includes a visit to Canada at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (August 25), and Eldora (August 1), where Friesen is one of the heavy favorites.

Entering Granby, Matt Shepherd has a 65-point championship lead on Larry Wright, who has one point paying win at Plattsburgh Airbone Speedway this season. Mat Williamson, looking for his first points paying victory of the season, sits in third, 99 markers back. Jimmy Phelps and Billy Decker enter the race filling out the top five.

The field was full at Drummond, with 29 cars making the race. The quality of racing is always high in Canada, as fans flock the grandstands to see the action. Granby should be just as packed and intense as Drummond was on Monday.

Despite finishing 12th at Drummond, keep an eye on Brett Hearn, as “The Jet” finished in the top five last year at Granby.

Granby is the final race before the annual Hall of Fame 100 at Weedsport Speedway (Sunday, July 28), honoring this year’s Hall of Fame class, which you can also catch on FloRacing.
