Add Darland to Corn Belt Nationals Field

You can officially add Dave Darland to entry list for this weekend’s $20,000-to-win BRANDT Professional Agriculture “Corn Belt Nationals” from Knoxville Raceway on July 5-6.

Darland will drive for west coast car owner Dwight Cheney in the No. 42, in which the Lincoln, Ind. native drove in last weekend’s abbreviated event at Tri-State Speedway and in local events over the past couple of weekends.

Prior to last week, the USAC Triple Crown champ last drove for the Glendora, Calif. car owner in USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car competition during the 2011 “Oval Nationals” at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.  Darland was also victorious for Cheney in the 2005 USAC/CRA season opener at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz., one of two USAC/CRA victories for Cheney as a car owner.  Max Adams won at California’s Santa Maria Raceway for Cheney in 2017.

Darland is the lone driver in the field to make feature starts in all three of USAC’s national divisions at Knoxville, making his first start there in a Silver Crown car in 2000 where he finished 9th.  A year later, he improved to a 4th place result.  In 2006, he took a third in a Midget at Knoxville.  In a USAC Sprint Car at Knoxville, he’s been as high as 10th in 2010 and 8th in 2018, where he picked up hard charger honors after starting 17th.

On both Friday and Saturday, pits open at Noon (Central), driver sign in at 3pm, draw closes at 5:45pm, drivers meeting at 6pm and cars on track at 6:15pm.

Prior to racing action getting started at the BRANDT Professional Agriculture "Corn Belt Nationals," the official kickoff begins with a Fourth of July celebration, including a concert and fireworks at Knoxville Raceway on Thursday, July 4.

Tickets for the inaugural BRANDT Professional Agriculture Corn Belt Nationals are available at www.knoxvilleraceway.com/tickets or by calling the Knoxville Raceway ticket office at 641-842-5431. Tickets start at $20 for adults, $15 for teens and $10 for children 12 and under on Friday. Saturday’s tickets increase by $5.

The inaugural BRANDT Professional Agriculture “Corn Belt Nationals” on Friday, July 5 & Saturday, July 6 from Knoxville Raceway will have dual streaming coverage on Dirtvision and FloRacing.

Both nights of the “Corn Belt Nationals” will be streamed LIVE in their entirety on www.Dirtvision.com, the official streaming platform for Knoxville Raceway.  FloRacing subscribers can catch Saturday’s USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car $20,000-to-win A-Main feature finale LIVE on www.floracing.com.
