USAC Speed2 Midget action occurs on two fronts this weekend with Friday’s Midwest Thunder Midget stop at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway on May 24 and IMRA’s return to Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. on Sunday, May 26.

Friday will mark MTM’s debut at Bloomington.  Two-time and defending series champ Aaron Leffel of Springfield, Ohio leads the standings following last weekend’s win at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway.

MSCS Sprint Cars, RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Modifieds are also on the event card for Bloomington on Friday.  Adult general admission tickets are just $15.  Students with ID are $10.  Children 12 and under are FREE.  Pit passes are $30 apiece.  Pits open at 3pm (Eastern) with the front gates opening at 5pm and racing at 7pm.

Meanwhile, Sunday is Spoon River’s third IMRA race of the year.  Last year’s champ Andy Baugh of Mason City, Ill. won the first two events of the season and leads the standings coming in.  DirtCar Modifieds, BIG 10 Super Late Models, the DirtCar Pro Late Models and the Bartonville Express Lube DirtCar Hornets are also ready go Sunday at the Spoon.

Pits open Sunday at Spoon River at 2pm, grandstands at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm.  Adult general admission tickets are $20, kids 10 and under are $5 and pit passes are $40 apiece.
