By The Numbers: Matt Sheppard Notches Win No. 60 In Super DIRTcar Series

“Super” Matt Sheppard may have finished off the podium in the Super DIRTcar Series’ season opener last month, but the defending tour champion did not have to wait long to find his way back to victory lane.

On Friday evening, Sheppard tamed the D-Shaped Demon at Brewerton Speedway in New York by dominating a whopping field of 36 modified drivers who signed up for the series’ second points race of 2018.

Sheppard led from green to checkered to win the 100-lap main event and lapped his opposition all the way up to the 10th position.

Altogether, he now has 60 career victories in the Super DIRTcar Series.

“It’s pretty cool being a part of that group, knowing the group of guys that followed the series throughout the years, the best in the business,” Sheppard said. “It’s a real honor to put my name in the record books.”

The next Super DIRTcar Series race on tap is at Albany-Saratoga Speedway for the “Big Show X” on Tuesday, June 26. The feature will pay out a hefty $10,000 to the winner as well as guaranteed starting position at the 47th annual NAPA Super DIRT Week.

Here’s a breakdown of the season stats for the Super DIRTcar Series following this past week’s race.

Last Lap Hero Windom Scores USAC Sprint Opener
