Two Are Greater Than One: Announcing Baughman-Reutzel Motorports

Josh Baughman and Aaron Reutzel will combine forces in 2018 to form Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports. As a result, Reutzel will increase the number of races he runs while Baughman will run fewer events.

"My kids are growing and are at an age where I want to be able to attend their school and sporting events as well as spend more time at home as a family," Baughman said. "Also, my business is taking off and it's important that I'm prioritizing that so for those two reasons I'm going to scale back the number of races I run."

Both Texas natives will run a combination of 410 and 360 Sprint car races next year. Reutzel will run up to 90 times in 2018 by running the All Star Circuit of Champions and adding select World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races to his schedule.

Baughman will race in approximately two dozen races and shift his focus to running the family business.

"My dad (Mike) and I want to still be really involved in racing so we're excited to team up with Aaron, who will focus on 410 racing next season," Baughman said. "I have full confidence he will be able to compete for the All Stars championship and win some races."

The combination of forces also allows the two sprint car drivers to pool their resources, with marketing partners and sponsors coming from both camps.

Some of their existing partners include Fischer Body Shop, Beard Equipment, Precision Catalyst, Hollywood Blasting & Coating, Dissolvalloy, Nattress Construction, Triple X Race Co., and Momentum Racing Suspensions.

But the alliance will also attract other partners.

"We also want to announce Folkens Brothers Trucking will be a big part of our team so we're thrilled about that," Reutzel said. "I'm beyond excited for next season. Josh and Mike have become great friends of mine and I'm really looking forward to continuing our partnership."
