Kerry Madsen Climbs Off The Murray Bridge Fence To Win At Borderline
In Round 2 of the WSS, Kerry Madsen had to be helped down after hanging on the fence, but he found a new Sprinter and won Round 3 at Borderline Speedway.

Kerry Madsen bounced back from the second night of the World Series of Sprintcars the best way imaginable: by leading at Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier, South Australia, from flag-to-flag Thursday. Madsen started the night in a new car. That’s because his last one was too badly damaged at Murray Bridge Speedway during Round 2 of the WSS after hanging off the fence the night before.
James McFadden, who won Round 2, started on the front row next to Madsen as the two previous winners of this series held on to their positions all race long.
Madsen made zero mistakes in his run from the pole. And even though McFadden turned in lap times that were equal to the leader, there was never a chance for the Round 2 winner to make a serious challenge for the lead.
Carson Macedo was the highest-finishing American. He improved on his last performance in the series by one position when he secured the final podium position. He was also the Hard Charger after starting 20th. Macedo passed six cars on the first circuit and moved into the top five on lap nine.
Americans Jason Johnson and Dominic Scelzi got mixed up in a four-car pileup with Daniel Harding and Matt Egel. The incident was triggered when Johnson spun in turn three on lap two. Scelzi wasn’t particularly happy with being involved in his third wreck of the season.
Another dnf. Another stupid wreck caught up in someone else's crash. Good fun ?

Tim Van Ginneken, who foiled Madsen’s run the night before, started third but retired from the race after seven laps and was credited with 15th.
Madsen and McFadden set a furious pace, so only seven drivers finished on the lead lap. Macedo crossed the finish line in third place, nearly five seconds behind Madsen. Steven Lines finished fourth after starting in seventh, and Shaun Dobson completed the top five after falling one position from his gridding on the outside of row two.
Ryan Jones and Brock Hallett were the remaining two drivers to finish on the lead lap, crossing in sixth and seventh, respectively.
