The USMTS Finalizes Its 2018 Schedule

The United States Modified Touring Series has filled the final slots on its 2018 schedule with three events that were listed as "to be announced" and one brand new date. Two of these events will be inaugural races at their tracks.

Two dates have been added to the May 4-6 weekend with two celebrated tracks joining the schedule. On Friday, May 4, the USMTS will head to the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, AR, and the weekend will wrap up at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, OK, for the first-ever trip there. Wedged between will be a visit to Pocola, OK’s Tri-State Speedway.

All of these races will also be part of the USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup.

Last year, the USMTS headed west for some inaugural, high-profile races at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, NM, and West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas. This year, the Western Swing kicks off with their first trip to Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, AZ. The Arizona race will feature two A-Mains on April 13-14, followed by returns to those tracks.

Finally, the USMTS will return to I-35 Speedway in Winston, MO, on Aug. 16 after 12 previous shows there. Ryan Gustin has three prior wins at this track to make him the winningest active driver. Kelly Shryock also had three wins there in the 2002 season.
