Fairbury American Legion Speedway has hosted World of Outlaws Late Model Series races for five years, and now the quarter-mile dirt track will add the Sprint Series to its calendar in 2018. The inaugural event will be a midweek show on Wednesday, May 30.

"We have wanted to bring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars to FALS for a long time now," Fairbury race director Matt Curl said. "FALS has had a ton of success with the Late Models, and what better way to add excitement than by bringing in 'The Greatest Show on Dirt.'"

While the Outlaws Sprints will be new to the schedule, 410 sprints were a big part of the 2017 slate. The Interstate Racing Association and Midwest Open Wheel Association have also run at Fairbury. In a 25-entry, combination event with those two series, Carson Macedo passed Joey Saldana on the last lap on October 7.

"The racing was phenomenal this year with the winged cars, and we are looking forward to providing a similar racing surface for the highest caliber drivers in the country," Curl said.

After drawing 25 entries for the regional tours, series and track officials expect a big car count for next year’s show.
