Chip Ganassi has given Kyle Larson approval to race this Saturday in the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway.

Larson announced the decision in a video on Twitter.

"Winning the NASCAR championship this year is my main focus and my main goal, but I am also extremely happy that Chip is allowing me to go back to Knoxville on Saturday and try and win a Knoxville Nationals championship as well," Larson said.

Larson qualified for the final by winning Thursday night. That was supposed to be his swan song for sprint cars this season, but it set of a wave of support from fans who wanted to see if he could win one of sprint cars' biggest events.

"That's sort of our Daytona 500 of sprint car racing and to have the opportunity to go back and win that is very special to me," he said.

Larson will line up ninth for Saturday's A-Main.

"Make sure to watch Jamie [McMurray] and me here at Michigan on NBC Sports as I go for my third win here," Larson said. "That's also really important to me."
