That is the 1st time since 1992 (Steve Kinser) that a driver got a perfect 500 with quick time (200 points), a heat win (100) and the feature win (200). Gravel was born in 1992.
Gravel says: Donny Schatz has won nine of these, but never had a perfect scored... Yes, they pay attention to stats.
A-Main: It took another 10 or so, but Gravel gets back around and hold on for the win.
Mark Dobmeier. Brian Brown, Daryn Pittman, and Ian Madsen round out the top 5
Gravel takes the lead with 15 to go, but the caution waves immediately afterward and he is put back to 2nd.
on lap one, Dominic Scelzi and Jason Johnson get tother with significant damage. Scelzi bycicled in turn 4, collecting Johnson
B-Main: Rico Abreu takes the wins. Justin Henderson, Trey Starks, and Jason Sides
Jason Sides battling for the final transfer and cuts across the nose of James McFadden. Sides wants this.
Sammy Swindell slows unexpectedly and cannot return. His night is done.
C-Main: Lee Jacobs gets a challenge from Paige Polyak after a lap 5 restart, but hold her off. Greg Wilson and Wade Nygaard also advance.
Heat 5: Josh Baughman wins over Danny Dietrich, Mark Dobmier, Brooke Tatnell gets back to the transfer spot after bringing out the early caution and falling to shotgun on the field . Rico Abreu just misses in 5th
Heat 4: Dale Blaney, Kraig Kinser, Brian Brown and last year's winner Jason Johnson (whose mother makes a wicked jambalaya) takes the final transfger.
Heat 3: On the final lap, Tim Kaeding loses a shoe and crosses the line with only three tires. Thomas Kennedy nips him at the checkers. Terry McCarl 3rd and Wayne Johnson 4th. And the irony watch - Kaeding manages to make weight.
Some difficult getting this one going with a bad start and Sam Hafertepe stalling.
Heat 2: Chris Martin yards the field with Dominic Scelzi in 2nd and Daryn Pittman 3rd. The battle was for the final transfer between Kyle Reinhardt and Slammin' Sammy Swindell. Reinhardt gets the spot.
Heat 1: Gravel is the 1st driver to transfer, over Jack Dover, Ian Madsen, and Spencer Bayston - who was a victim of last night's problem at the scales.
Holy canoli, Gravel vaults around the competition on the 1st lap. He grabbed the lead from mid-pack on lap three
Heats are getting ready to roll off. There will be five of them with the top four advancing straight into the A-Main.
