This Week In Late Models: Outlaws And Lucas Oil Regulars Invade The South
With rain washing out four Lucas Oil and World of Outlaws Late Model Series races, their regulars invaded the Southeast.

When rain canceled World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series races in Illinois, Kansas, and Oklahoma last week, it sent their regulars scrambling to find a place to compete. They were successful.
Ten tracks, mostly in the Southeast, kept rain at bay and absorbed the superstars.
On the heels of snapping a 12-year winless streak in the Lucas Oil Series, Earl Pearson Jr. got his second win of the season. This one came in an Ultimate Late Model race at Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC. Fellow Lucas Oil regular Jonathan Davenport came along with him and finished 12th.
Brandon Sheppard led a host of Outlaws to Smoky Mountain Raceway in Maryville, TN, and triumphed in a field filled with invaders. His first win in the Southern All Star Series came over Chris Madden, Tim McCreadie, Shane Clanton, and Eric Wells and a talent-laden roster.
This coming week, there are 10 major late model races scheduled as well as a host of regional events. Highlighting this schedule are two races each for Lucas Oil and the Outlaws.
The Lucas Oil drivers will tackle Tazewell Speedway, in Tazewell, TN, on Friday and Florence Speedway in Union, KY, on Saturday.
The Outlaws head to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC, on Friday and Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC, on Saturday.
