Devin Moran Rockets Up FloSports Late Model Power Rankings
Devin Moran and Chris Madden were this week's two biggest movers in the FloRacing Dirt Late Model Power Rankings.

Shannon Babb ascended to the top spot in the FloSports Late Model Power Rankings this week, and Scott Bloomquist plummeted five positions as both the World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series continue get up to full speed.
Last week, the Lucas Oil series ran three races. The Outlaws have been idle since April 2.
On the strength of three top fives in three starts this season, Babb holds the top spot with a power ranking of 91.67 out of a perfect 100. Three starts during the past 60 days may not seem like a very big data pool from which to make a decision, but all three of these events were high-profile races. He finished fifth on both nights of the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL, with the Outlaw regulars and was third against the Lucas Oil guys at Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, AR.
Bloomquist dropped down the order because of one bad and one moderate finish. He started second at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, in the Steel Valley 50, but after leading the first three laps he experienced trouble on lap 15 and fell to the back. His 19th-place finish in that race earned only 33 of 100 percentage points and killed his average. Two nights later, he failed to crack the top 10 again at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, PA.
That fall allowed several drivers to ascend. The big mover this week was Chris Madden, who landed third on the chart. Like Babb, he has cherry-picked his races during the past 60 days, but all of them have come with the Outlaws. He has a perfect record of top 10s in his last four starts. Two of these were top fives, including a fourth at Farmer City. Madden's position with the leaders is further confirmed by a record of seven top 10s in eight Outlaw races this year, including a victory at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA, this February.
Brandon Sheppard held his third position on the list. His last two races were markedly different from one another, but they averaged out to a decent weekend. He finished second at Sharon Speedway after leading the field to green. He was on the front row again two nights later but fell from second to 12th.
Fourth-place Devin Moran also rocketed up the rankings. Last week, he was listed ninth in the Late Model Power Rankings, but a pair of fourth-place finishes at Sharon and Atomic Motor Speedway in Oak Ridge, TN, improved his average to 83.67. The past two months have been mostly kind to the late model racer, but he actually has a pair of results outside the top 10 weighing him down.
Billy Moyer Sr. rounds out the top five despite have a dismal showing in the Bad Boy 98. He finished 24th in that Lucas Oil. He is buoyed by three top fives in his four Outlaw races and owes his spot on the list to a very solid Illini 100 weekend. He finished third and second in those two races.
