The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is set to travel to two Indiana tracks this weekend, with races at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, IN, on Friday, April 28, and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN, on Saturday, April 29.

That is, if Mother Nature approves the series' plans.

This will be the first time the Outlaws regulars have gotten into a points race in two weeks. One of their off weeks was planned, but rain canceled this past weekend's activities. That means they will be well rested and ready to go.

The Outlaws will visit Plymouth for only the second time in their history. A year ago, Brad Sweet grabbed the inaugural checkered flag on the 3/8ths-mile oval after Joey Saldana captured the pole. It was Sweet's sixth win of the 2016 season.

He took the lead from Saldana on lap 10, but it was Daryn Pittman who made a hard charge late in the going. Saldana held on to finish fifth.

David Gravel finished third at Plymouth and carried that momentum with him to Haubstadt. He wrestled the lead early from a Kerry Madsen, a non-series regular, and held off an attack by Brady Bacon in the closing laps.

Gravel is already off to a fast start this year with four wins and three more runner-up finishes to his credit. His latest win at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas, and a second at Devil's Bowl have contributed to a FloSports Sprint Car Power Ranking of 86.93, putting him third on the chart.

"It's our second year together as a team," Gravel said in pre-race release. "We had a great season last year and kept all the same equipment. We have a notebook built up. It helps to unload with a baseline set up, and we can work off of that.
