This past weekend, Tucker Hibbert continued his dominant 2016-17 campaign by capturing his 124th career win at the ISOC National Snocross tour in Deadwood, South Dakota.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for the eight-time U.S. National Snocross champion. Hibbert got off to a slow start in the qualifying round on Friday, which functioned as round seven of the tour. He took fourth among 14 riders in the 24-lap contest after getting dusted off the line.
"I'm really happy with my rides in the main events. Obviously, I wish I could have won Friday night but moving through the field, I felt good. Saturday night's main event went about as smooth as it can get. I got a great start, made the pass for the lead on the first lap and was able to pull a big lead," Hibbert told the Black Hills Pioneer. "Overall, I'm happy with my performance but disappointed in my qualifying results. Since the qualifiers have bonus points to win, I really need to start winning those races. That's something I'm focused on turning around."

Saturday's performance was a totally different story. Hibbert bounced back on the Deadwood course by taking the holeshot and control of the race despite some early shuffling. He dominated the track, extending his lead to 16 seconds in the 16th lap before steering smoothly across the finish line for win No. 124.
Now, Hibbert has his sights set on the X Games in Aspen, Colorado, where a 10th consecutive gold medal lies in his crosshairs. The event will run this week from January 26-29.
"I've got in a solid week of testing in Colorado and feel really dialed-in with my sled," Hibbert told the Black Hills Pioneer. "I'm riding as good as ever right now and feel really confident heading into X Games this week."
