UPDATE: Ken Roczen's First Surgery Succeeded, But He May Need Four More

After sustaining a compound fracture in his left forearm during the third round of Monster Energy Supercross -- Anaheim Two last Saturday, Ken Roczen has already gone through one surgery, but he may require four more.

The Team HRC Honda rider took to Instagram yesterday to provide the update and show his fans he's on the road to recovery.

Roczen won the first two rounds of the 450 Main Event at Anaheim Two SX and was in good position through round three before he was launched from his seat during a triple jump:

At the hospital, Roczen shared photos of his grisly injuries, which included a dislocated wrist, dislocated elbow and compounded radius.

That night, Roczen flew from Anaheim to The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, for his first surgery to be performed by his preferred doctor, Randall Viola. A specialist in sports-related trauma and hand, elbow and wrist injuries, Dr. Viola also works as the team physician for the U.S. Men's Alpine Ski Team and consults the U.S. Snowboarding Team and the Denver Broncos.

He has yet to make an announcement about how much time he's projected to miss in 2017.
