A 33-car field featuring Brandon Sheppard, Hudson O’Neal and defending event winner Jonathan Davenport has assembled at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., for Thursday’s $20,000-to-win FloRacing Night in America event.
The 50-lap feature marks the eighth round of the series, with Sheppard carrying a 21-point advantage over O’Neal into the evening. Fresh off securing his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship, Sheppard is pursuing his second national touring title of the season.
Davenport returns after winning twice during April’s inaugural Gauntlet at Volunteer, including the $30,000 finale. He also captured last fall’s FloRacing visit to the high-banked oval.
Dale McDowell seeks his second consecutive major victory at Volunteer after September’s Scott Bloomquist Memorial Scorcher triumph. Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, Devin Moran, Mike Marlar and Chris Madden are also among the entrants.
Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Eastern, with live coverage on FloRacing. The complete entry list follows.
