Lucas Oil Speedway is set to host the Big Buck 50 and MARS Late Model Fall Nationals this weekend.

WHEATLAND, MO. -- The biggest Super Stocks race in the history of Lucas Oil Speedway arrives later this week with the the 10th annual Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt starting a three-day run on Thursday.

The Hickamo Super Stocks will have time trails and qualifying heats on Thursday with heats, qualifiers and dashes on Friday. It all leads to the $25,000, 50-lap feature on Saturday paying $25,000-to-win. The race has paid $10,000 to win in previous seasons.

Lucas Oil Speedway general manager Casey Shuman announced over the summer that an anonymous donation from one the track’s season-ticket holders is the reason for the bump in the purse. Craig Danuser and Whitetail Trophy Hunt is the long-time primary sponsor of the event, with a free entry into the prestigious mid-Missouri hunt also going to the feature winner.

Some additional sponsorships for the Big Buck 50 include:

First non-qualifier, $500 presented by Alamo Arms

Hard Charger - $500 presented by James and Donna Ray with Oak Ridge Ranch

Fast Time Award - $500 presented by TJR Motorsports

Joining the Super Stocks this weekend will be the MARS Late Model Dirtcar Series’ first appearance in Wheatland in nearly 20 years, for the Late Model Fall Nationals. The MARS drivers will have three practice sessions on Thursday with full programs Friday and Saturday with A feature winners earning $5,000 and $10,000 on those respective nights.

It will be championship weekend as well for MARS with Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Illinois leading Jason Feger of Bloomington, Illinois by only 36 points.

Friday also is Pink Out Night to honor cancer survivors or those battling cancer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Fan are encouraged to wear pink and Visit the Racing for Hope Wall to share the name of someone special and join us during opening ceremonies for a special track-wide tribute.

Another fun activity on Saturday will be TNT Baggers hosting a cornhole tournament at noon with 11 a.m. registration. Entry is $30 per person with a bring-your-own bags or use TNT’s.

Grandstands and pits open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6 and racing at 6:15. Pit-side concessions will be open on Thursday, but main grandstand concessions and the Diamond Bar will not be open.

About Whitetail Trophy Hunt: This November marks the 37 annual edition of the Whitetail Trophy Hunt at Lake of the Ozarks. The popular hunt, with $15,000 to the winner, brings in participants from all over the United States and abroad.
