Sunday's second annual Rural King Road to the Dome — the 40-lap, $10,000-to-win event around eighth-mile Coles County Speedway — serves as unofficial prelude to December's Gateway Dirt Nationals at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Some of the sport's biggest names are in attendance, including Brandon Sheppard, Ryan Gustin, Chris Ferguson, Jason Feger, Drake Troutman and Tanner English. Mike Spatola won last year's Road to the Dome. The winner receives an automatic invitation to compete in the Gateway Dirt Nationals.
