The 16th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial, sanctioned by Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing, has drawn more than 40 cars to Lucas Oil Speedway.
Thursday and Friday’s results will determine four drivers who lock into Saturday’s $25,000-to-win finale. The rest of the field will race through qualifiers for a spot in the main event.
Hockett/McMillin Memorial Format: Thursday and Friday, Sept. 17–1
All cars qualify in one group. Friday’s pill draw is the reverse of Thursday’s.
Qualifying awards 100 points for the fastest time, decreasing by one point per position.
Four heat races are lined up from qualifying with the top six cars in each inverted. The top five finishers in each heat advance to the A-Main.
Heat race points begin at 100 for the winner, decreasing by two points per position.
The A-Main is lined up by points among heat race transfers, with the top eight inverted.
Heat finishers sixth through ninth go to the B-Main. Its front row is reserved for the two fastest qualifiers who did not transfer to the A-Main. The top four B-Main finishers advance to the A-Main.
Heat finishers 10th through 13th go to the C-Main. The top two C-Main finishers advance to the B-Main.
A-Main points begin at 200 for the winner, decreasing by three points per position.
Hockett/McMillin Memorial Format: Saturday, Sept. 19
The top four drivers in combined points from Thursday and Friday lock into the $25,000-to-win Championship A-Main.
The remaining drivers line up in four qualifiers, straight up by their combined points. The top four finishers in each qualifier advance to the A-Main.
A redraw wheel sets starting positions 1–4 for the locked-in drivers and 5–8 for the qualifier winners. Qualifier finish determines positions 9–20.
Qualifier finishers fifth through eighth go to the B-Main, with the two highest point earners who have not transferred starting on its front row. The top four B-Main finishers advance to the A-Main.
Qualifier finishers ninth through 12th go to the C-Main. The top two advance to the B-Main.
Two series provisionals are available each night. Provisional starters earn High Limit championship points but do not earn event points.
