The all-important heat races for the 56th annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway are set after high-point earner Brandon Sheppard spun a six on the Wheel of Misfortune, producing a six-car invert among the top 36 drivers in weekend points across the six heats.
Sheppard and Chris Ferguson emerged as the weekend’s top two point-earners, guaranteeing both at least a provisional starting spot in Saturday’s 100-lapper should they fail to qualify through their heat or B-main.

Each 15-lap heat transfers its top three finishers directly to the World 100, while everyone else advances to one of two B-mains for a final opportunity to qualify.
The posted lineups include four drivers who have left Eldora and will not compete Saturday. Brandon Overton and Justin Duty returned home Friday for the births of their children, while Shannon Babb departed after Thursday’s program and Mike Marlar announced Friday night that he was also heading home.
