The 56th World 100 at Eldora Speedway continued on Friday night with a pair of 25-lap preliminary features ahead of Saturday's $100,000-to-win main event. Brandon Sheppard and Hudson O’Neal picked up victories at The Big E on the eve of the most prestigious race in dirt late model racing.

Brandon Sheppard engaged in a see-saw battle with Ricky Thornton Jr. during the middle portion of the Group A feature before taking the lead for good with 10 laps remaining. With the win, Sheppard secured high-point honors for the week and will be the driver that spins the "Wheel of Misfortune" to determine the invert for Saturday's heat races. 

RTJ finished second one night after failing to qualify for a prelim feature following a mechanical issue in his shootout race. Nick Hoffman moved forward four spots from his seventh starting position to finish third, while Dale McDowell and Tim McCreadie completed the top five. 

In the Group B feature, it was a power move from fourth-to-first for Hudson O'Neal on the opening lap that proved to be the difference. O'Neal took the lead on Lap 1 and was never challenged from there on his way to victory lane. 

Chris Ferguson prevailed in a battle with Bobby Pierce for the runner-up spot, while Chris Madden and polesitter Brian Shirley completed the top five. 

The 56th World 100 concludes on Saturday with heat races and consolation races leading into the 100-lap main event. Fans can watch all of the action live on FloRacing.
