A big field of Super Late Models is headed to Marne, Michigan’s Berlin Raceway from near and far to try to capture the $40,000 check at the Tekton 250 Battle at Berlin on Wednesday night, including NASCAR Cup Series winners, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champions, and YouTube sensation Cleetus McFarland who will make his Super Late Model debut.

Yes, Cleetus McFarland will be in competition in Wednesday’s Battle at Berlin. McFarland recently purchased a Super Late Model to help with his development as he continues to try to climb the ranks of NASCAR in honor of the late Greg Biffle. McFarland announced earlier this summer that his first Super Late Model start would be coming at Berlin, and now here we are.

Joining McFarland on the entry list is 2024 winner Carson Hocevar, from nearby Portage, Michigan. Hocevar is no stranger to success at Berlin, and really he’s been no stranger to success anywhere. Hocevar is quickly becoming one of the more popular and also polarizing figures in the sport. He went viral in this race one year ago for telling Bubba Pollard that he was number one after contact between the two.

The Tekton 250 Battle at Berlin is the second of two marquee Super Late Model races held at Berlin Raceway each summer. The first is the Money in the Bank 150 held in June. The winner that night was Wisconsin’s Ty Majeski. Majeski has been coming to Berlin Raceway for a long time, but finally was able to capture his first victory at the tricky Michigan half-mile in dominating fashion after overcoming some issues in the first half of the race.

One driver who has had this race circled on his calendar since the schedule was announced is local hero Austin Hull. Hull scored the biggest win of his life in this race one year ago. Now we’ll have to see if he can defend that win on Wednesday night.
