The Spears CARS Tour Northwest and Southwest tours will duel in the second and final installment of the interdivision Rivalry Races in this Saturday’s 125-lap shootout at Colorado National Speedway. It also marks Round Two of the Hoosier Tire West Triple Crown Challenge, where 31 competitors from nine states and Canada will all vie for $7,500 to win, Best of the West bragging rights and Triple Crown Challenge points. Fans can catch all the action live on FloRacing beginning at 5:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 1.

It was Keelan Harvick who went to Shockwave Victory Lane in the Rivalry Race’s opening round at Evergreen Speedway last month but he’ll have to outpace a West Coast host of talent if he’s to repeat. Andrew Riehl, the 15-year-old new point leader of the Northwest PLM, Ethan Ebert, and surging Haeden Plybon will be hard chargers.  

Kevin Harvick, already with two Northwest PLM victories in 2026, joins Southwest point leader Kyle Keller, Robby Sawyer—who led the Southwest charge with a fifth-place finish at Evergreen—and Buddy Shepherd as drivers to watch. 

The event is also attracting the tour’s Super Late Model competitors, including Taylor Mayhew, winner of a pair of SLM races in 2026, including the May event at Colorado National, SLM point leader and Colorado native Jace Hansen and Wenatchee 200 winner, Dylan Zampa. All three SLM drivers have at least one SLM win to their credit in 2026. 

The Frank’s Radio Legend Car division is in full swing this weekend with a 30-lap feature on Saturday and INEX and CNS features on Friday and Sunday. With 41 cars on the preliminary entry list it’s a huge stage, with features paying $500 to win each night and $1,500 to win in the Frank’s Radio Legend Car event on Saturday. Among the early entries are youngsters Brexton Busch and Jhett Phipps of Heyburn, Idaho.

ROUND TWO OF THE HOOSIER TRIPLE CROWN CHALLENGE: Colorado National Speedway is the site of the second round of the Hoosier Triple Crown Challenge. The first round came last month at Evergreen Speedway with Rackley W.A.R.’s No. 62 leading the standings. The Hoosier Triple Crown Challenge awards car owners an additional $20,000 in prize money during the 2026 season. To be eligible, car owners must compete in all three Triple Crown events with their entries: Evergreen Speedway (June 27), Colorado National Speedway (Aug. 1) and Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway (Oct. 17).

NORTHWEST VS. SOUTHWEST: The Northwest division held a bit of a homefield advantage in the opening volley of the Rivalry Race series at Evergreen Speedway last month. With Keelan and Kevin Harvick taking the top-two spots and regional racer Haley Constance in third, it came down to the fourth and fifth-place finishers to determine the divisional edge. The Northwest’s Ethan Ebert finished fourth, followed by the Southwest’s Robby Sawyer in fifth.  

SLM CROSSOVERS: This Rivalry Race brings several heavyweights from the Spears CARS Tour Super Late Model division to test their mettle against a talented PLM field. It’s a shot at $7,500 to win and bragging rights. SLM drivers participating in the event are Jace Hansen, Taylor Mayhew, Dylan Zampa and Ethan Ebert. All four competitors have at least one SLM win to their credit in 2026.  

HEADS UP STATS: With both the Northwest and Southwest divisions having each completed five races on the 2026 schedule, here’s a breakdown of the series leaders among fulltime competitors:

COLORADO COMPETITORS: Drivers competing at Colorado National Speedway this weekend who also raced at the facility earlier this season in SLM competition include Taylor Mayhew (winner), Jace Hansen (third), Keelan Harvick (fourth), Bretty Yackey (seventh), Ethan Ebert (ninth) and Dylan Zampa (15th). 

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH: Count Buddy Shepherd (SLM), who led 63 laps, and Keelan Harvick (PLM), who paced the field for 33 laps, among the 2025 winners at Colorado National Speedway.  

NORTHWEST TRENDS: While Kevin Harvick and Rackley W.A.R. have been strong over the past few weeks, winning two of the last three Northwest events, it was Haeden Plybon who had the dominant ride at Stateline two weeks ago. Plybon took the pole with a new PLM track record but battled adversity all race long, ultimately bouncing back to finish fourth. His effort, along with a pair of podium finishes at Tri-City and Stateline in June, has propelled him into a tie for second in points with Ethan Ebert. Plybon has improved seven positions in the standings over the last four events.  

SOUTHWEST TITLE HUNT TIGHTENS: This race marks the Southwest PLM division’s first race since competing in last month’s Rivalry Race at Evergreen Speedway, and sixth overall. At Evergreen, Las Vegas’s Kyle Keller held on to the Southwest PLM point lead following a ninth-place finish. It was enough to keep him one point ahead of Keelan Harvick, winner of the event. Within striking distance is Robby Sawyer, a scant nine points behind. Sawyer scored a top-five finish last month at Evergreen.  

NORTHWEST CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT HEATS UP: Andrew Riehl took command of the Northwest PLM point standings following a 14th-place finish in the Idaho 200. Riehl, a native of Corbett, Oregon, sat seven markers behind Ethan Ebert going into the event but took over the top spot after Ebert suffered a DNF. Ebert fell to second where he’s tied with the surging Haeden Plybon. All three drivers are separated by four points with four races to go in their season.  

CENTENNIAL STATE CONTENDERS: Drivers from the Centennial State on the preliminary entry list include Jace Hansen (Evans, Colo.), Jeff Walbaum (Brighton, Colo.) and Brett Yackey (Greeley, Colo.).  

SPEARS CARS TOUR NORTHWEST PLM FULL SCHEDULE: The 2026 PLM features a nine-race schedule that continues at Evergreen Speedway (Aug. 14), Tri-City Raceway (Sept. 5) and the season finale at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval (Sept. 19).  

SPEARS CARS TOUR SOUTHWEST PLM SCHEDULE: The 2026 PLM schedule continues at All American Raceway (Aug. 29), Orange Show Speedway (Sept. 12), Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Oct. 2), Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway (Oct. 17). 

RECORD SETTING PURSE IN 2026: The biggest payout in Spears CARS Tour West history is up for grabs in 2026 with $2.1 million in total payouts, including $200k in championship awards, $1.9 million in purse money and bonuses and partner awards at every race. Multiple marquee events with high-dollar purses are on the docket through the season.
