Anthony Macri Beats Chase Dietz In Photo Finish To Win Round 8 At Williams Grove Speedway
Anthony Macri escaped Williams Grove Speedway with his second straight Mitch Smith Memorial victory Friday, surviving a breathtaking last-lap charge from Chase Dietz to win by just 0.041 seconds.
After leading all 30 laps from the pole, Macri watched his advantage disappear when his tires went away following a late caution, allowing Dietz one final shot around the outside.
Macri hugged the bottom entering the final corners — a move he later regretted — but held on by inches in a thrilling drag race to the checkered flag.
"I made the stupidest corner of the whole race," Macri said. "I could hear Chase — I could tell he was breathing down my neck. Honestly after that restart, my car wasn’t very good. I think I used the left-rear tire up too much before that yellow. And under the yellow, I just wasn’t working with my tires. Ultimately it kind of cost me.”
The handling issues forced Macri to abandon attack mode and focus solely on keeping Dietz behind him over the closing laps. Instead of seeing his PA Speedweek advantage cut nearly in half, Macri turned a potential 41-point lead into a commanding 91-point cushion. His photo-finish victory produced a massive 50-point swing in the championship battle.
“I didn’t have a good car after that. It was extremely hard, kept losing the left-rear,” Macri said. “From that point on I went to defense mode and started sliding myself in three and four and then moved my entry down a little bit on the last lap and that was not the thing to do."

Anthony Macri Capitalizes On Chase Dietz's DNQ To Win Round 7 At Hagerstown Speedway
Anthony Macri entered Thursday's PA Speedweek stop at Hagerstown Speedway trailing Chase Dietz by 65 points in the championship standings. He left with a 72-point lead.
Dietz's title hopes took a major hit when a throttle issue in his heat race forced him into the B-main. The four-time Speedweek winner rallied from 11th to fifth but came up one spot short of transferring to the feature, opening the door for Macri to claim his third victory of the miniseries and execute a stunning 137-point swing in the standings.
But Macri said his focus never drifted to the points race.
"Points aside, I'm not worried about that throughout the night," Macri said. "I know we had a job to do. Obviously that job is the same thing every single night, and that's to win the race. Hats off to my guys for working really hard in the heat."
Though Macri ended up leading all 30 laps from the outside pole, his Macri Motorsports team "changed a lot of stuff on this car throughout the night" from qualifying — when they timed fifth in Group A, three tenths off fast-timer James McFadden — to the feature. A heat race win from the outside pole put him in position for the redraw, which he took care of business from there.
"We made the right call there before the feature. I just tried my best to get through lapped traffic the whole race," he said. "I just tried to be smart and read the track, see where i might've been faster or slower. I didn't feel like the top was the place to be, but through lapped traffic I kinda had to make my moves in the top of one and two.
"I was pretty good on the top in three and four. ... I had to commit to the top down there for my car to lay left."

Chase Dietz Outduels Anthony Macri In PA Speedweek 6th Round At Port Royal Speedway
In a span of just six laps, Chase Dietz went from two seconds behind race-long leader Anthony Macri to the lead — and then, with only three circuits remaining, on his way to victory lane in Round 6 of PA Speedweek at Port Royal Speedway.
The York, Pa., driver didn't think he had anything for Macri, who controlled the 30-lap feature until having troubles with lapped traffic with five laps to go.
"Honestly, with the way the track was, not really. I figured right off the start, you were going to get to where you were going to be and that was going to be it," Dietz said. "It actually slicked up enough that you could easily get over the ruts, and you could run above it to a point. It just made it very unique for everyone. No one honestly was going to feel good there — it was about holding on for the most part. Just an intense race."
For Dietz, the victory underscores just how good his Stehman Motorsports team is right now as they picked up their 15th overall triumph of 2026, including four in six races this PA Speedweek.

Anthony Macri Wins PA Speedweek 5th Round At Grandview Speedway
After nearly a decade of trying to conquer Grandview Speedway, Anthony Macri finally triumphed at the third-mile bullring and perhaps the most unique dirt oval on the Speedweek schedule Tuesday.
The Dillsburg, Pa., driver pocketed the $10,000 payday — his second Speedweek victory this miniseries, adding to last Friday’s opening night victory at Williams Grove Speedway — in his 11th career Grandview start.
“Finally got it done here. I love this racetrack,” Macri said. “It’s probably my favorite racetrack in Pennsylvania. It’s a shame we only get to come here twice a year. It seems to aways put on badass racing. I’ve wanted to win here so bad.”
Coming from the sixth-starting spot, Macri led the final 22 of 35 laps when he passed early leader Logan Rumsey on the 14th circuit. From there he found his rhythm around the top of turns one and two, but the bottom of turns three and four, topping Brady Bacon by three seconds.
Macri had finished runner-up three times before at Grandview: in the 2024 Speedweek race at Logan Schuchart, ’22 Speedweek to Rico Abreu and ’21 All Star Circuit of Champions stop to Tyler Courtney.
“We were tight in the beginning, but that was kind of the game plan,” Macri said. “The car came to me in the middle section. I lost one here in the rubber and I wasn’t about to lose another in the rubber here again. … This is a bucket-list win I finally get to check off.”

Chase Dietz Banks $50,019 In PA Speedweek 4th Round At Lincoln Speedway
Chase Dietz’s remarkable season — a “dream” season by his account — reached new heights in capturing Monday’s whopping $50,019 top prize in the Steve Smith Tribute Race at Lincoln Speedway.
The York, Pa., driver notched his nation-leading 14th overall 410 victory, his third straight on the Speedweek trail and his richest victory all in front of an enormous crowd in Abbottstown, Pa.
“To me, the money don’t matter. It’s seeing all these fans here for such a big event,” Dietz said. “It’s just incredible to see the support the track had today. This is a Monday and we have a packed crowd.”
The second-starting Dietz, who said he “needed to be patient,” led the final 23 of 35 laps, running down early leader Freddie Rahmer from more than a second back to take the lead on lap 13. Dietz had a scare late in the going when he jumped the cushion in turns three and four, which he “tried not to panic” all while 22nd-starting Danny Dietrich had closed in his charge to second
“For what we’ve done as a team, it’s been incredible so far this year,” Dietz said. “We still have a long way to go. … Incredible to be able to stand here for the year I’ve been having and us as a team we’ve been having. It’s something I’ve dreamed about. Things have just been going our way.”

Chase Dietz's BAPS Motor Speedway Mastery Continues In PA Speedweek Round 3
Chase Dietz has virtually mastered BAPS Motor Speedway this year. Sunday’s third-round Speedweek victory marked his fourth victory at the 4/10-mile oval his last five starts there while giving him six overall podiums in seven starts with no finishes worse than fourth.
Coming from the seventh-starting spot, the York, Pa., driver knew how to get to the front.
“The track was pretty dirty, but I felt like I could go about anywhere honestly,” he said. “I feel the benefit of starting where we did. Got to fourth quick, then I was able to maneuver. I was able to hit the middle through one and two.”
Dietz methodically worked his way forward in the 30-lap feature to pass early leader Ryan Smith for the lead on the 21st circuit. Two laps before that, though, he sized up second-running James McFadden at the right time.
“I started moving around and got James (McFadden) at the right time,” Dietz said. “At that point, Ryan was kind of committed to where he was. That’s the not-so-good thing about being in the lead in traffic. I got a good run off of four — ran right across there and grabbed the curb off. That seems to be the line and momentum there at the end.
“It’s just awesome,” he added. “We had such a terrible Friday but that’s in the rear-view, as it was last night. … This team is really on a roll.”

Chase Dietz Wires PA Speedweek Round 2 At Lincoln Speedway
Chase Dietz rebounded the best way possible Saturday at Lincoln Speedway — in victory lane — one night after a disappointing Speedweek opener at Williams Grove Speedway where he failed to qualify for the main event.
“We had a really rough night. It humbles you pretty quick,” Dietz said. “That’s how racing is. Really awesome to rebound like we have. It shows how awesome our team is.”
The York, Pa., driver wasn’t perfect by his standards Saturday, but he stayed out of trouble in leading all 30 laps from the pole. It helped that he started the night with overall fast time honors.
“That got pretty intense out in traffic. The curb was really nasty both corners. I haven’t seen it like that here in a long time,” he said. “One and two was really tough to get off off. It kinda washed out in the middle and it made it difficult. I cut across the middle and that’s where we can be really good most nights. I didn’t get off two very well, but I knew as soon as I got off four, just hitting our marks, we were alright.”

Anthony Macri Wins First Race Back In PA Speedweek Opener At Williams Grove Speedway
Nearly three months after suffering compression fractures of his T4 and T5 vertebrae, Anthony Macri returned in style by capturing the Speedweek opener at Williams Grove Speedway.
The $10,000 victory — his first since March 15 at BAPS Motor Speedway — didn't come without a test of endurance. Starting fourth, Macri tracked down race-long leader Logan Rumsey on lap 21 of the 30-lap feature, just as Rumsey's bid unraveled.
"Once I figured out how to get around the hole in turn one, I was pretty good," Macri said. "Obviously coming back from what I'm coming back from, the hole in turn one wasn't exactly nice earlier in the night. Once the track widened out, and I could enter in above it and change my line up so I didn't have to go through it, it was pretty good.
"I feel good, but I feel like I'm not up to par with telling (crew chief) Joe (Mooney) how the car is, and exactly how I'm feeling and when I'm feeling. Obviously definitely some rust to knock off but not a bad way to start Speedweek."
