The 20th annual Firecracker 100 takes place this weekend at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, starting with Friday's preliminary night that sets the stage for Saturday's 100-lap, $50,000-to-win finale.
Ricky Thornton Jr. and Brandon Sheppard captured the opening two 25-lap semifeatures a night after Thursday's preliminaries were cancelled because of rainstorms. Thornton outdueled early leader Hudson O'Neal in the first prelim, taking the lead on the 13th lap when O'Neal slipped up in turn four.
Sheppard, meanwhile, passed Devin Moran on the seventh lap of the second prelim to take the final semifeature of the night. See below for complete results.
