Eldora Speedway hosted the opening night of the 32nd annual Dirt Late Model Dream on Thursday, featuring a 50-lap preliminary race paying $30,000 to the winner. Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill. continued his impressive performance at "The Big E" by scoring the victory.

Taking advantage amid traffic, eighth-starting Pierce dove under Devin Moran on the 31st lap Thursday at Eldora Speedway and led the rest of the 50-lap Dream XXXIII prelim. Pierce kept 12th-starting Tyler Erb at bay over the final dozen laps, winning by 0.844 of a second at the historic half-mile oval.

Erb crossed the finish line second in his Kyle Busch throwback No. 51 and Hudson O'Neal marched forward from his ninth-starting spot to finish third. Polesitter Devin Moran and 20th-starting Ricky Thornton Jr. completed the top five.
