Twice overtaking race-long leader Hudson O'Neal on laps 41 and 42 and holding on the rest of the way, sixth-starting Ricky Thornton Jr. of Chandler, Ariz., grabbed a $15,000 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory at Circle City Raceway. The pair swapped the lead twice before making contact at the flagstand with Thornton edging away to win by 2.015 seconds for his second series victory of the season.
