The Spears CARS Tour Southwest hits the high banks of Stockton 99 Speedway for Saturday’s Impact Transportation 225, featuring its Pro Late Model, Limited Late Model and Legend Car divisions after a three-week hiatus.
The Pro Late Models will headline the event with a 125-lap feature paying $7,500 to win. FloRacing will have live coverage of the event beginning at 6 p.m. PT (9 p.m. ET) on Saturday, April 18.
With Stockton’s defending Pro Late Model race winner Jacob Gomes not competing this week, multiple drivers will look to join Kevin and Keelan Harvick on the list of Southwest PLM winners in 2026. Championship contenders include Kyle Keller (second in points), Robby Sawyer (third in points), James Hamlin (fifth in points), and Jaron Giannini (eighth in points). All four drivers gained ground in the standings following the most recent event at The Bullring. Taylor Mayhew, already a Super Late Model winner this season, also joins the list of potential victors in PLM. Mayhew finished third in his lone PLM start at The Bullring earlier this year.
Justin Philpott of nearby Tracy, Calif. returns to defend his 2025 LLM victory at the quarter-mile oval. Leading the charge for series regulars is point leader and Loomis, Calif. native Kenna Mitchell. Mitchell continues to be a consistent LLM driver this season, posting one win, three top fives and an average finish of 2.6 in three starts.
The Legend Car (LEG) division is scheduled for its fourth race of the season Saturday night with a 30-lap INEX/CTW points race. Logan Chambers wrestled the point lead away from Daniel O’Donnell and holds point by a mere five markers following The Bullring event last month.
NOTES:
IMPACT TRANSPORTATION 225: In addition to its sponsorship of the No. 5V of Vito Cancilla in the PLM division, Impact Transportation will be the newest entitlement partner of the Impact Transportation 225. Impact Transportation, LLC is a California-based logistics company specializing in port drayage, warehousing, and trucking services, particularly handling containers and oversized loads. Founded to provide reliable on-time performance, the company serves as a bonded carrier offering flatbeds, rail vans, and specialized transportation solutions. Visit ImpactTransportation.com for more information.
PLM ROUNDUP: With the PLM division making its third start of the season, Las Vegas native Kyle Keller hopes to continue climbing in the title hunt. Keller trails Keelan Harvick (not entered at Stockton) by 20 points but owns one top-five and one top-10 finish in two starts this season. His average finish of 6.5 ranks among the Southwest division’s best. Robby Sawyer, James Hamlin, and Jaron Giannini each have one top-10 finish to their credit in 2026.
HOMETOWN PLM RACERS: Several Stockton-area racers will compete in the PLM feature, including #6 Jojo Stearns and #71 Kyle Guttula. Also of note are #2 Hans Beeler, #2 Adam Coonfield, and #6 Mike Beeler from nearby Modesto, Calif.
LOCAL LLM TALENT: #50 Justin Philpott and #51 Brendan Ruzbarsky will represent nearby Tracy, Calif., in LLM competition during the Impact Transportation 225. Philpott, the defending winner of the event, makes his first Spears CARS Tour Southwest LLM start of the season, while Ruzbarsky looks to build on a campaign that already includes one top-five and two top-10 finishes.
LLM TITLE BATTLE: Kenna Mitchell expanded her LLM point lead following a third-place finish at The Bullring. She now leads Skyler Schoppe by 12 points heading into the weekend. However, the big mover is Saugus, Calif., native Christian Bazen, who climbed two spots to third on the strength of a fifth-place effort at The Bullring.
LLM BY THE NUMBERS: Although Kenna Mitchell leads the division with one win and three top-five finishes, Christian Bazen is quietly putting together a consistent season. Bazen has two top fives, three top 10s and an average finish of 5.0. Skyler Schoppe is the only other series regular with a trio of top-10 finishes through the opening three events.
