The street car world turns its attention to Texas this week as TX2K returns for another massive edition of high-horsepower competition at the historic Texas Motorplex. TX2K26 presented by Summit Racing Equipment brings six days of roll racing and drag racing action to the Lone Star State, streaming live on FloRacing.
More than 600 of the quickest and fastest street cars from across the country are expected to compete, representing everything from near-stock street machines to 2,500-horsepower monsters. With imports, domestics, and exotic supercars all sharing the spotlight, TX2K remains one of the most diverse and electrifying gatherings in the modern street-car movement.
For years TX2K was synonymous with Houston Raceway Park, but following the facility’s closure the event found a new home in 2024 at the Texas Motorplex. The move preserved one of the sport’s premier gatherings while shifting the action to another legendary drag racing venue in the state.
The result is a new chapter for TX2K that still carries the same high-energy atmosphere racers and fans have come to expect.
The drag racing portion of the event features an extensive lineup of classes using both Pro Tree and Sportsman Tree formats.
Pro Tree Classes
Heavyweight
X58
2JZ vs. The World
Street Car
Stick Shift Challenge
Sportsman Tree Classes
GTR Unlimited
GTR 68
DCT
Several champions return looking to repeat after standout performances last year:
Brett LaSala – 2JZ
Chris Baily – Heavyweight
Mike Kainovic – X58
David Rohrschneider – GTR 68
Ayla Galeyeva – DCT / GTR Elite
Curtis Wentworth – DCT / GTR Pro
Edgar Montoya – DCT / GTR Champ
John Shepherd – GTR Unlimited
Jon Lund – Street Car Elite
Chad Cates – Street Car Pro
Harry Charbonier – Street Car Champ
Aaron Lopez – Stick Shift Challenge
Roll racing has become one of the biggest draws of TX2K, where high-speed highway-style battles unfold side-by-side on the Motorplex surface.
Returning champions include:
Kevin Howeth – Elite 8
Mark James – Unlimited
Jonathan Clavijo – Super Sport
Carlos Corvea – Sport
Beyond the action on track, TX2K doubles as a massive gathering for the performance industry. The TX2K vendor village will feature more than 150 sponsors and vendors, showcasing the newest high-performance parts, technology, and gear for racers and enthusiasts alike.
With hundreds of elite street cars, multiple racing disciplines, and one of the biggest crowds in the performance scene, TX2K26 is once again set to deliver a week of unforgettable action deep in the heart of Texas.
