According to a report from Kennedale News, the initial incident began when Sprint Car driver Marcus Thomas flipped while entering the racing surface prior to the LCQ. As safety crews responded to assist Thomas and organize cars preparing to enter the track, two side-by-side vehicles operated by officials collided in the infield.
World Racing Group added that the incident remains under investigation. The remainder of the evening’s program was postponed before the scheduled 35-lap feature could be run.
