The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series wraps up the Wieland Winternationals this week with a four-night stretch at Golden Isles Speedway, beginning Wednesday with a 30-lap, $7,000-to-win opener.
More than 40 drivers are registered for the event once known as the Super Bowl of Racing. Action carries on Thursday with a 40-lap, $10,000-to-win program, followed by Friday’s 50-lap, $12,000-to-win feature and Saturday’s 50-lap, $25,000-to-win finale.
Hudson O’Neal rolls in fresh off a pair of victories at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway worth more than $35,000 and leads the tour with seven feature wins this season. Brandon Overton, a four-time winner in 2026, also boasts plenty of success at Golden Isles with five career victories there, including his first Lucas Oil triumph in 2017, totaling more than $70,000 in winnings at the track.
Tyler Bruening captured his first series win at Golden Isles last year before rain washed out the remainder of the event; the Iowa driver was banged up in a heat race crash at Ocala but is hopeful to be back in action this week.
