Radial Revolution Returns: Lights Out 17 Brings Big Stakes to South Georgia

Radial racing’s winter momentum rolls straight into South Georgia as Summit Racing Equipment Lights Out 17 – Radial Revolution takes over South Georgia Motorsports Park Feb. 19–22. Promoted by Donald "Duck" Long and his wife, Stephanie, under the Duck X Productions banner, Lights Out 17 doubles as the second stop on the FuelTech Radial Outlaws Racing Series schedule, following a season-opening barnburner at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

If the U.S. Street Nationals set the tone, Lights Out 17 is where championship narratives begin to harden – and where new ones can explode overnight. The class lineup is stacked top to bottom, headlined by Radial vs. the World with a $30,000-to-win payday. Pro 275 offers up $20,000 to win, while Limited Drag Radial and X275 both bring $10,000 to the winner. Ultra Street races for $5,000, Limited Street 235 for $2,500, and a deep undercard –Gangster X, N/T Outlaw 275, All Steel All Glass, N/T Pro Truck, 6.00 Index, and Open Comp – rounds out the program. New for 2026, No Billet 10.5 joins the mix, adding another layer of intrigue for racers and fans alike.

One of the weekend’s most compelling storylines comes from a driver making his RvW debut. Young gun Kyle Dvorak rolls into Valdosta in Rob Kohler’s Lee White–tuned, screw-blown Camaro after spending the last two Drag Illustrated Winter Series races in Pro Mod trim. The switch from big tires to radial is no small ask, but Dvorak’s recent seat time – and a proven combination – make this a watch-closely entry from the first hit.

Few drivers arrive hotter than Tommy Youmans. The veteran racer and car owner snagged his first LDR win at the U.S. Street Nationals in his iconic turbocharged, Pontiac-powered GTO, and confidence travels fast in radial racing. With a target on his back and a field eager to knock him off, Youmans’ follow-up performance should be exciting.

Reigning RORS Pro 275 champion Grantley Schloss brings international flair – and serious momentum – after back-to-back U.S. Street Nationals wins in his ProCharged ’67 Nova. The Australian ace is chasing another marquee Lights Out victory, but Pro 275 rarely hands anything over easily, especially in Valdosta.

In X275, reigning series champ DJ McCain aims to put his nitrous-fed “Vecna” Corvette back in the winner’s circle after qualifying No. 1 at the USSN. Standing in the way are USSN winner Billy Lackey and runner-up Ron Rhodes, among others, in what’s shaping up as one of the weekend’s tightest classes.

Joel Greathouse enters Ultra Street trying to make it three straight wins in Davey Hull’s Mustang after victories at the Snowbirds and USSN. Chasing him are second-generation standout Ronny Rhodes and USSN No. 1 qualifier Steve Romeo – two drivers more than capable of breaking the streak.

All eyes will also be on Gangster X, where Randi Lyn Butner – the first and only Mountain Motor Pro Stock driver to dip into the 3-second zone – will pilot the wheelstanding Summit Racing Camaro that she recently debuted in Lil Gangstas at the U.S. Street Nationals, adding star power to an already entertaining category.

From massive purses to title-defining momentum swings, Lights Out 17 has all the ingredients of a season-shaping weekend. When the Radial Outlaws unload in Valdosta, expect records to be chased, streaks to be tested, and new heroes to emerge – exactly the kind of revolution “Duck” had in mind.
