The Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts returns where the event began in 2001 at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Ariz., as the miniseries features three 10,000-to-win events and one $15,000-to-win feature bookended by $25,000-to-win features.

Doing so in domination, Garrett Alberson captured his third career Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout victory Saturday, leading all 40 laps for a $15,000 payday. Going uncontested most of the night, Alberson cruised to the checkered flag 5.486 seconds ahead of Hudson O’Neal in a caution-free feature.

Alberson won with a backup car after breaking a rocker arm in the engine he’d used through the first four nights of the miniseries. He lapped all but 10 competitors and maintained a five-second advantage through much of the final dozen laps, his lone moment of concern coming at the white flag when he briefly climbed over the cushion in turn four. O’Neal secured second place by overtaking Jonathan Davenport with two laps remaining.
