The 40th Chili Bowl Nationals presented by NOS Energy Drink continued Tuesday night with the second of five preliminary nights. Oklahoma native Blake Hahn took the lead from fellow Oklahoman Hank Davis with five laps remaining to earn his first career Chili Bowl Nationals preliminary victory.

Hahn, the grandson of Chili Bowl co-founder Emmett Hahn, charged to the win from his eighth starting position to claim the victory. 

Davis, who took the lead from polesitter Zach Daum with 10 laps remaining, settled for runner-up honors and a lock-in spot for Saturday's main event. 14-year-old Jett Barnes turned in a head-turning performance in his Chili Bowl debut and second Midget start ever, completing the podium in third. 

Daum and last year's Tuesday prelim winner Landon Brooks completed the top five.
