The second running of High Limit International at Australia's state-of-the-art Perth Motorplex that's converging big-name drivers from both the United States and The Land Down Under kicked off in exciting fashion with Sunday's $15,000-to-win opening night program.
Capturing his second feature victory in four days at the 3/8-mile oval, Buddy Kofoid outdueled fellow Americans Corey Day and Brad Sweet to take the final High Limit International prelim and $15,000 payday before Tuesday's $110,000-to-win USD finale.
Kofoid led the opening 11 laps until Day electrified his way to the lead on Laps 12 -13. Sweet briefly took control on Lap 14 before powered back to the point on Laps 14-19. Kofoid regained command on Lap 20 to lead the final 11 circuits.
Fifth-startng Jock Goodyer and pole-starting Dayne Kingshott, both Aussie favorites, came on strong toward the end of Monday's 30-lap feature, rounding out the podium behind Kofoid in second and third, respectively. World of Outlaws campaigner Carson Macedo earned hard-charger with his 20th-to-11th performance.
Day, Goodyer, Kofoid and Kingshott are the four highest points-earners that locked themselves into Tuesday's Dash.
