Drivers from NASCAR’s national touring series are setting their sights on Five Flags Speedway as Snowball Derby week arrives. The prestigious Super Late Model event has long drawn NASCAR talent, with several stars capturing the crown jewel either before rising through the national ranks or during their time at the top levels of the sport.

This year is no different. As teams prepare for the first week of December, we take a closer look at the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers heading to Pensacola, Florida to compete in the 58th Annual Snowball Derby.

NASCAR Cup Series Drivers

Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch returns to this year’s Snowball Derby with a chance to join Rich Bickle—owner of a record five victories—as the only drivers to win the event three or more times. Busch has made five career Derby starts since his debut in 2002, collecting wins in 2009 and 2017. His résumé also includes finishes of third in 2012, seventh in 2020, and 33rd in his first attempt. Now, the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion aims to add a third Tom Dawson trophy to his decorated record.

Noah Gragson

Noah Gragson, the 2018 Snowball Derby champion, will return to Five Flags Speedway for the ninth time in his career. Since making his Derby debut in 2015, he has missed the event only twice—2019 and 2021—and has qualified for the main event in eight of his nine attempts. Gragson enters this year’s race with an average finish of 15.57, looking to improve on that mark and contend for a second Tom Dawson Trophy.

Erik Jones

Like Kyle Busch, Erik Jones is aiming to join rare company as only the second driver to earn three or more Snowball Derby victories. Jones burst onto the national scene by winning the Derby as a Michigan teenager in 2012, then backed it up with a second straight triumph in 2013.

Since those landmark victories, he has made four additional Derby starts, posting a best finish of 10th in 2021. After missing the event last year, Jones returns to Five Flags Speedway looking to rekindle the magic that once made him one of the race’s most dominant young stars.

Ryan Preece

Preece didn’t come up through the Super Late Model ranks; his foundation was built in Modifieds across the Northeast, not far from his Connecticut home. But after making his Snowball Derby debut as an 18-year-old in 2008, he quickly became a fan of the event and set his sights on returning.

He did so in 2021 with an impressive fourth-place finish, then came back again in 2023 driving for Kevin Harvick Inc. Now, Preece has assembled his own Super Late Model program as he prepares for a fourth attempt at capturing the Tom Dawson Trophy.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Drivers

Ty Majeski

Majeski has become a mainstay at the Snowball Derby, factoring into the equation in nearly every race he competes in at Five Flags Speedway. He will be looking to join fellow Wisconsin driver Rich Bickle as the second driver to win three or more Tom Dawson trophies. Majeski will be making his 12th consecutive Snowball Derby start, dating back to his debut in 2014. He has an average finish of 7.55 in his previous 11 attempts.

Kaden Honeycutt

Honeycutt returns to the Snowball Derby as the defending winner of the crown jewel event at Five Flags Speedway. Honeycutt, who finished third in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings, will be making his sixth career Snowball Derby attempt. In addition to his win, he also scored a top-five finish in 2020.

Jake Garcia

Garcia returns to the Snowball Derby to make his seventh attempt. Garcia finished second in his Snowball Derby debut as a 14-year old in 2019 but has struggled to find similar success since. Garcia finished 30th one year ago after failing to make the race in 2023.

Dawson Sutton

Sutton enters this year's race as arguably one of the hottest Super Late Model drivers in the country. He is coming off a big win in the All-American 400 at Nashville, as well as a win in the Blizzard Series finale at Five Flags. Dawson will be making just his second Snowball Derby start.

NASCAR Drivers Who Have Won The Snowball Derby

Kyle Busch (2), Erik Jones (2), Chase Elliott and Noah Gragson make up the list of active NASCAR Cup Series drivers who have won the Snowball Derby.

NASCAR Hall of Famers Donnie Allison and Darrell Waltrip have also won the Snowball Derby.
