The USAC National Midget Series competed on their second straight night at the Merced Speedway in California. Saturday night they raced for the Chase Johnson Classic, and it was Logan Seavey who earned his first USAC Midget win of the season. 

Seavey would take the lead from Jacob Denney coming to the white flag and never looked back. From his fifth starting position, Seavey methodically picked his way through the front runners while Denney led laps 1-28. It was with three laps to go that Seavey really made the gap shrink and as the white flag flew Seavey drove to the outside of Denney to take the lead. 

Seavey won his first race USAC Midget feature in 533 days, his last win coming June 28, 2024. He was on the top podium step, while Jacob Denney finished second and Corey Day finished third. Cale Coons was the hard charger driving from 22nd t to 14th.
