Harvick Cup To Conclude Saturday At Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway
The Harvick Cup fueled by Hunt Brothers Pizza finale takes place Saturday night at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California.

(Editor's Note: Saturday's race at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway has been postponed due to an unfavorable forecast. It has been rescheduled for December 20 when the CARS Tour West Pro Late Models will crown its champion. Kevin and Keelan Harvick will not be in competition that day due to a prior engagement.)
The Harvick Cup fueled by Hunt Brothers Pizza comes to an end this Saturday night at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California, where NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick and his 13-year-old son Keelan Harvick will square off one more time along with the best drivers of the CARS Tour West’s Pro Late Model division.
Kevin and Keelan have run a mixture of Pro Late Models and Super Late Models throughout the season, with each having scored some wins along the way.
The 2007 Daytona 500 champion nabbed the very first win in the first race at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield way back on May 31. But Keelan didn’t let him get a big advantage in the series as he went out and won the second race that night to even the score.
After that, the younger Harvick went on a run of four straight victories over his father at Washington’s Evergreen Speedway in June, Hickory Motor Speedway and Owosso Speedway in July, and Colorado National Speedway in August.
Keelan crashed hard while running second in the closing laps at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in August. That gave that night’s series win to his father as Kevin Harvick finished third on track behind Jace Hale and Taylor Mayhew.
But Keelan rebounded nicely just a week later when the Harvick Cup traveled back out east to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the CARS Tour Pro Late Model finale. Keelan and Kevin started side-by-side in the second row, but Kevin’s race ended prematurely with an engine issue. Keelan went on to score the series win and the race win in thrilling fashion as he took the lead away from Luke Baldwin in the late stages.
Fast-forward a week and the Harvick Cup was back out west at Kern Raceway, but this time they were in more powerful Super Late Models, with Keelan piloting one of those beasts for the very first time. Keelan and Kevin were both in contention to score the race win until Keelan spun on the final lap. Kevin finished second in the race, but scored his third Harvick Cup victory and second in the last three races.
As it stands heading into the season finale for the CARS Tour West and series finale for the Harvick Cup fueled by Hunt Brothers Pizza, Keelan Harvick leads Kevin Harvick by a score of six to three. Three of those victories for Keelan were overall race wins too at Kern on May 31, Hickory on July 12, and North Wilkesboro on October 18. Kevin’s only overall race victory came in the first race on May 31 at Kern.
Now they head back to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on Saturday night to end it at the same place where it all began, both for the Harvick Cup and for the legacy of the Harvick family, in Bakersfield, California. Keelan Harvick will wrap up the Harvick Cup in a proverbial passing of the torch.
