Kyle Larson is now a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion following Sunday’s season finale at Phoenix Raceway. The Elk Grove, California, native plans to enjoy the title for a few weeks before getting back behind the wheel of a race car.

Larson, known for his willingness to race anything, anywhere, will return to his dirt-track roots next week at Placerville Speedway (CA) for the Hangtown 100. The annual USAC National Midget event scheduled for Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 will be co-promoted by Larson himself and Russell Motorsports Inc.

"Yung Money" returns to the Hangtown 100 seeking his third victory in the race after securing wins in 2019 and 2023.

Placerville Speedway has been an important race track for Larson and his racing career. In 2007, at the ripe young age of 14, Larson competed in his first career Sprint Car race at Placerville Speedway and earned his initial victory at the track that same season. The El Dorado County Fairgrounds based facility was also where he wrapped up his Golden State KWS-NARC Series title in 2010.

"It’s really special to be part of an event that means so much to me, " Larson said. "Placerville Speedway is a place where my family and I grew up going to, not just as fans, but to race. Teaming up with Scott and Kami to continue growing this event is incredibly important to me, and I’m excited to not only help promote, but also to compete."

The Hangtown 100 kicks off a nine-race west coast swing for the USAC National Midgets that ends with the prestigious Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway. While Larson's participation has not been confirmed for any of the other west coast races, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the two-time NASCAR champion behind the wheel of a Midget for additional events during the swing.

Both nights of the Hangtown 100 at Placerville Speedway, as well as the entire USAC National Midgets west coast swing, will be streamed live on FloRacing. If you're not already a FloSports subscriber, click here to sign up today.
