First Look: 2025 Snowball Derby Entry List
The first look at the entry list for the 2025 Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway has been revealed.

The 58th Annual Snowball Derby presented by FloSports is just barely a month away, and that means it is finally time to give our eyes their first look at a stacked entry list for this year’s race. Even though we’re still a month away from the race, the entry list, which currently stands at 52 entries, has already surpassed last year’s total number of entries.
In 2024, the entry list on release day a month out from the race had 49 entries. 51 total entries were filed by the time race week rolled around. This year we’re already standing at 52 entries with more names still expected to be added. The current list of entries can be found at the bottom of this story.
With that in mind, let’s take a quick look at some of the heavy-hitters that will be doing battle in the legendary arena that is Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, December 4-8.
We’ll start off with the driver that was the first to file an entry for the 58th Snowball Derby. That driver is none other than the defending winner of the race, Aledo, Texas’ Kaden Honeycutt. The 22-year-old driver shocked the Super Late Model world when he took Larry Blount’s race team to the Snowball Derby victory. Honeycutt, who is fresh off his first appearance in the championship four for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will look to go back-to-back in the Snowball Derby, which would make him the first driver since Erik Jones in 2012 and 2013 to do so.
One of Honeycutt’s fellow championship four drivers is also entered, and that is Ty Majeski, the winner of the Snowball Derby in 2020 and 2023. This year’s Snowball Derby will be the 12th for the driver out of Seymour, Wisconsin. Majeski has qualified for the Snowball Derby in 11 straight years since he first came down to Five Flags Speedway back in 2014.
The driver that finished second in the 2024 Snowball Derby is still chasing his first official victory in the biggest Super Late Model race in the world. That driver is Stephen Nasse out of Pinellas Park, Florida. Nasse will be piloting a car out of Anthony Campi’s stable for the second year in a row. This year’s race will be Nasse’s 15th attempt to taste victory in the Snowball Derby. Nasse qualified 30th a year ago and drove through the field to finish second, which stands as the best official finish of Nasse’s Snowball Derby career.
Typically Bubba Pollard is the first driver to file an entry for the upcoming Snowball Derby every year, but this year Pollard was the ninth driver to join the entry list. The Senoia, Georgia native has done everything there is to do in Late Model racing except win the Snowball Derby across 19 attempts and 17 starts dating back to his first start in 2005.
The Snowball Derby usually brings in a dosage of NASCAR flavor, but this year’s dosage is quite heavy. Eight full or part-time drivers from NASCAR’s top three levels are already on the entry list, headlined by two-time winner Majeski, two-time winner Erik Jones, defending winner Honeycutt, and 2018 winner Noah Gragson, who will pilot the Port City Racing house car. NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece will make his fourth attempt at the Snowball Derby after finishing fourth in 2021. Conner Jones, Jake Garcia, and Dawson Sutton are also on the entry list, as is the co-owner of Tricon Garage, David Gilliland, who will make his second consecutive visit to the Snowball Derby.
So far there are five past champions of the Snowball Derby already entered for this year’s race. Those drivers are Honeycutt, Majeski, Gragson, Erik Jones, and Derek Thorn. The Bakersfield, California driver finished 24th last year driving for Paul Shafer. This year, Thorn will be driving a No. 96 for owner Josh Reeves and Highlands Motorsports.
The power team of Wilson Motorsports, owned by Donnie Wilson, is slated to bring four cars down to this year’s Snowball Derby. Currently only half of the stable is known. Cole Butcher and Gavan Boschele will drive the No. 28 and No. 24 Toyotas respectively for Wilson Motorsports. Butcher, the 2025 Blizzard Series champion at Five Flags Speedway, has done a whole lot of winning for Wilson Motorsports throughout his career. Butcher has won the Redbud 400, the Winchester 400, and he leads the ASA STARS National Tour points. Boschele has also had success this year. He kicked off the season with an ASA National win at New Smyrna Speedway in the Clyde Hart Memorial. The drivers of the No. 22 and No. 2 for Wilson Motorsports are currently listed as TBA.
