A new chapter is set to begin at the historic West Virginia Motor Speedway this Saturday, October 11, with the launch of the Short Track Debut. The event will mark the first race on the track’s newly constructed three-eighths-mile oval and officially usher in what promoters are calling “The Action Era” at the Mineral Wells, West Virginia facility.

Headlined by a $5,000-to-win Super Late Model race, the event will also feature a $1,200-to-win UMP Modified showcase, $1,000-to-win Pro Late Model race and a $700-to-win feature for Sport Mods.

“This is a milestone moment for West Virginia Motor Speedway,” said track owner Mike Hurley. “We’ve put countless hours and resources into building a new short track that will deliver close, competitive racing to keep the fans engaged in the action. October 11th will be the first chance for fans to experience the new track and we are looking forward to everyone’s support”.

While a complete entry list for the event has not been published, the track has been promoting a handful of stars who will be in attendance. Tyler Carpenter, Trevor Feathers, Ryan Montgomery, Eddie Carrier Jr. and Freddie Carpenter are among those planning to be in attendance.

Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. ET, with qualifying to follow. Racing is slated to kick off at 6:15 p.m. ET.

While there’s no better view of West Virginia Motor Speedway than the picturesque views taken in at the track, FloRacing will be on hand to offer a live stream of the historic event.
