The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invaded Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway outside the Steel City this weekend for the 37th annual Pittsburgher 100, which started with Friday’s 30-lap, $10,000-to-win preliminary won by Devin Moran and ended with Saturday's 70-lap, $50,000-to-win finale.
Propelling into the lead from the third-starting spot on the opening lap and never relinquishing control, Jonathan Davenport commanded all 70 laps of Saturday's Pittsburgher finale for the $50,000 payday and second straight victory in the Steel City event.
Davenport beat 13th-starting Max Blair by 0.623 seconds at the finish. With his third-place result and Group B fast time, Devin Moran takes a 15-point lead in the Lucas Oil standings heading into Oct. 17-18's Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway.
Ricky Thornton Jr., who entered the night with a 10-point lead over Moran, finished fourth after running second from Laps 10-58. He lost two spots over the final 12 laps where a pair of restarts occurred.
