The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invades Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway outside the Steel City this weekend for the 37th annual Pittsburgher 100 starting with Friday’s 30-lap, $10,000-to-win preliminary.

Topping a field of more than 40 drivers while taking advantage of Ricky Thornton Jr.'s midrace flat tire that knocked him out of the lead, Devin Moran powered to his second straight Friday night victory at the Pittsburgher to close within five points of the Lucas Oil title lead. 

Thornton rallied to finish ninth over the final 16 laps after his right-rear tire went flat on Lap 15 of 30. Moran led a total of 21 laps — the first five laps before Thornton went from fourth to the lead on Lap 6 and the final 15 laps.

Donald McIntosh was the biggest mover of the race, finishing seventh from the 21st-starting spot. Qualifying for his first feature since retiring from full-time racing following the 2022 season, Josh Richards started eighth and finished 17th. Richards ran as high as ninth before pulling into the hot pit running 11th on Lap 20.
