The USAC Silver Crown Series raced the traditional Ted Horn 100 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds on Saturday, where C.J. Leary scored his first win on a dirt mile in his career driving the No. 21AZ for Team AZ Racing. 

Leary drove to the front from his eighth starting spot, as A.J. Fike would lead the opening laps from the pole position. On lap 5, Leary had already moved up to the third position. On the same lap, Chase Stockon took command of the lead from A.J. Fike. 

Then on lap 6, Leary drove around Stockon for the lead, becoming the third different leader in six laps. The race was slowed for a yellow flag at lap ten, and on lap 17 Justin Grant moved around Chase Stockon for second. 

The race saw another caution on lap 21 for Jake Swanson and Brian Tyler who made contact, Tyler getting a rear tire flat, while Swanson lost a front tire. 

On the restart Kyle Steffens drove around Chase Stockon for the third spot, by lap 30 Shane Cockrum raced his way from the 22nd starting spot up to 7th.

On lap 34 Briggs Danner went up and smoke and retired from the race, on lap 39 Cockrum moved to 6th. 

At the halfway point Leary had a 2.5 second lead over Justin Grant and Chase Stockon. On lap 58 the caution comes out for Shane Cockrum who had made a massive charge to 6th as he slowed and tried to make it back to the pits but couldn't. 

On lap 64, Stockon went around Grant for 2nd, and on lap 66 Brian Tyler drove into the top-5. On lap 78 Mario Clouser drove to third around Justin Grant.

With 15 laps to go C.J. Leary held a commanding 5.4 second lead, but with 5 to go the lead had shrunk to 3 seconds, and with 2 to go the lead was 2 seconds, but C.J. Leary held on to score his first career USAC Silver Crown Dirt Mile win. Chase Stockon finished 2nd, while Mario Clouser finished 3rd.
