10 Drivers To Watch At The 360 Knoxville Nationals
A look at 10 drivers to watch during July 31-Aug. 2's 360 Nationals at Knoxville Raceway.

Before The Granddaddy of Them All—the Knoxville Nationals—goes down next week at Knoxville Raceway, the 360 Nationals first sets the stage for a lucrative, action-packed 10-day stretch at Knoxville, Iowa's Marion County Fairgrounds.
The 35th annual Xtream Powered by Mediacom 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank starts with qualifying night Thursday and Friday at the historic half-mile before Saturday's $35,000-to-win finale. This year's 360 Nationals roster is loaded with well-known drivers, namely Rico Abreu, Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet.
Along with Abreu and Sweet, Kubota High Limit Racing campaigners Brenham Crouch, Kasey Kahne, Justin Peck, Daison Pursley, Justin Sanders (subbing for the injured Aaron Reutzel in the Ridge & Sons Racing No. 87), and Giovanni Scelzi (subbing for the injured Tyler Courtney in the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC) are represented.
Five-time 360 Nationals champ Terry McCarl, whose win total is tied for most all-time with Shane Stewart, is racing as well. Below are 10 drivers to watch throughout the 360 Nationals, which is streamed live on DIRTVision.

10 Drivers To Watch At The 360 Knoxville Nationals
Rico Abreu
Best finish: Third (2023)
2024 finish: Did not start
The St. Helena, Calif., fan favorite is running so well this season, why not enter the 360 Nationals for a final 410 Nationals tune-up? In his lone event start that came in 2023, Abreu put on a show in his 24th-to-third performance. No driver has ever won the 360 Nationals and 410 Nationals in the same year. Abreu has a chance to become the first.
Brian Brown
Best finish: First (twice in 2014 and ’23)
2024 finish: Fourth (started ninth)
The 2014 and ’23 champ can move into third all-time in 360 Nationals wins should he get it done Saturday at Knoxville Raceway. He’s in a six-way tie for third between Billy Alley, David Hesmer, Dennis Moore Jr., Gary Lee Maier and Wayne Johnson.
Sam Hafertepe Jr.
Best finish: Runner-up (twice in 2014 and ’22)
2024 finish: 21st (started 13th)
With a pair of runner-ups in 17 event starts, the 360 Nationals has eluded the five-time ASCS champion over the years. Being the winningest 360 driver since the start of last year, the Sunnyvale, Texas, native might have another shot come Saturday.
Kyle Larson
Best finish: Third (2013)
2024 finish: Did not start
The three-time 410 Nationals champ enters the 360 Nationals for the first time since 2022 where he started 16th and finished 11th. A victory Saturday aboard Paul Silva's No. 57 (which owns four event titles with Shane Stewart) would make him the third driver to own both 360 and 410 Nationals triumphs along with Danny Lasoski and Sammy Swindell.
James McFadden
Best finish: First (2019)
2024 finish: Did not start
The 2019 champion returns to the 360 Nationals for the first time in five years harnessing favorable odds to become the ninth multi-time winner of the event driving for California-based Tarlton Racing, a team he's won four times with in limited action this year. McFadden hasn't won anything in the 360 since his Nationals title in the division six years ago with Kasey Kahne Racing.
Brett Moffitt
Best finish: None
2024 finish: None
The 2010 NASCAR Truck Series champ has been a regular Sprint Car competitor at Knoxville Raceway this year, even picking up his first 305 Sprint victory this May at Knoxville and winning another feature on the Sprint Kings Sprint Car Series. Making the 360 Nationals main event will be a tall order, but the former NASCAR national series champ should be fun to follow along.
Justin Peck
Best finish: 13th (2024)
2024 finish: 13th (started 14th)
The High Limit regular started 2025 by sweeping the ASCS-sanctioned DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, winning all three features at the Florida half-mile. He hasn't had much success in two 360 Nationals starts (DNQ in 2023, 14th-to-13th last year), but his Rudeen Racing No. 26 should be tuned-up for a shot at the title.
Tasker Phillips
Best finish: Sixth (2024)
2024 finish: Sixth (started sixth)
The Pleasantville, Iowa, native who will wrap up his first-ever Knoxville track title in the 360 ranks in a few weeks hopes to give the local fanbase something to root for come Saturday night. Phillips is the winningest driver in the 360 at Knoxville this year with three wins across 12 division features.
Giovanni Scelzi
Best finish: First (2021)
2024 finish: Did not start
In the wake of Tyler Courtney's season-ending injury, Scelzi finds himself in the ride that won the 360 Nationals last year aboard the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC. This weekend will actually be the first time Scelzi appears with the Clauson-Marshall team — inheriting the ride only two weeks ago following Courtney's surgery. He's been strong in four 360 Nationals, putting together runs of seventh, 11th, first and 10th.
Brad Sweet
Best finish: Fifth (2013)
2024 finish: Did not start
After an 11-year absence, the Big Cat is back at the 360 Nationals. Sweet hasn't competed in the prelude event to the 410 Nationals since his fifth-place finish in 2013. Though he has plenty of experience at Knoxville, these will be valuable laps this week as he gets reacclimated to racing after his injury at Eldora Speedway two weeks ago.
