A week after Aaron Reutzel's grimacing crash in July 18's World of Outlaws Knight Before at Eldora Speedway, Ridge & Sons Racing team owners Brian and Lisa Ridge have provided the latest update on their driver.

Reutzel underwent successful surgery on his fractured right foot Thursday, the Iowa-based team shared on Friday afternoon while adding that the "procedure went as planned" and the Clute, Texas, native's "medical team is optimistic about a smooth and full recovery." No timeline has been announced for Reutzel's return to action.

"We’re pleased to share that Aaron underwent successful foot surgery yesterday, to repair injuries that he sustained in his accident," Ridge and Sons Racing shared in a statement.

Reutzel's accident at Eldora occurred while running second in July 18's 30-lap Kings Royal prelim at Eldora where he flipped at the entrance of turn one before getting hit hard by both Zach Hampton and Steven Snyder Jr.

Reutzel exited the car under his own power, but was clearly shaken by the accident when he needed medical attention from Eldora's safety team. He was then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Ridge & Sons Racing added that "the support for Aaron, his family, and the entire RSR team over the past few days has been truly overwhelming."

"Every message, call, and gesture has been felt deeply and is sincerely appreciated by everyone involved," the team added. "Aaron’s determination and resilience are unmatched, and we’re confident that he’ll be back in the car before we know it. Until then, your continued thoughts and prayers mean the world to him and all of us."

After using a medical provisional for Tuesday's program at Lernerville Speedway, Reutzel remains third in the Kubota High Limit Racing standings, 25 points behind Brad Sweet, with five wins on the season. Reutzel claimed the richest victory of his career earlier this year during the $100,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway.

Fortunately for Reutzel, there's a three-week hiatus for High Limit Racing as the tour's next race isn't until Aug. 15 at Thunderbowl Raceway.

"For those who have asked how to support Aaron and the RSR team — our online apparel shop is live, and we’d love for you to check it out," Ridge & Sons Raced added. "Additionally, our apparel trailer will be at the Knoxville Nationals, so be sure to stop by and grab your favorite Aaron Reutzel/RSR gear. Thank you for standing with Aaron and RSR,
