Virginia Triple Crown Points Standings Update Entering Hampton Heat 200
Virginia Triple Crown points standings entering Saturday's 17th Annual Hampton Heat 200 at Langley Speedway.

The second leg of the Virginia Triple Crown goes green on Saturday night at Hampton, Virginia’s Langley Speedway with the running of the Hampton Heat 200. The first round of the Virginia Triple Crown went to JR Motorsports and Connor Hall for the second year in a row. Let’s see where things stand heading into Saturday at Langley.
As a quick refresher, the Virginia Triple Crown is made up of the Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 (South Boston 200) at South Boston Speedway, the Hampton Heat at Langley, and the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway in September. The Virginia Triple crown “standings” is determined by best average finish across all three races.
This year, the Virginia Triple Crown overall purse received a major boost due to FloSports and NASCAR. $50,000 in total purse money will be awarded throughout the top 10 in Virginia Triple Crown standings following September’s ValleyStar Credit Union 300 on September 27 with the champion taking home $20,000. The runner-up will receive $10,000.
Connor Hall’s victory at South Boston Speedway at the end of June has him sitting atop the Triple Crown leaderboard heading to his home track of Langley Speedway for the second consecutive year. Hall finished second in the Hampton Heat last year, and is also a past winner of this race back in 2019.
Incredibly, the drivers ranked second through seventh in the standings are all Hampton Heat rookies. That includes 14-year-old Darren Krantz Jr., Parker Eatmon, Ryan Millington, Ronnie Bassett Jr., Tate Fogleman, and Doug Barnes Jr. For Krantz and Fogleman, Saturday night will be their debut at Langley Speedway as well.
You have to go back to Brandon Pierce in eighth before you find another driver who has competed in the Hampton Heat. Pierce has made seven starts in the Hampton Heat. He finished second in 2020 to Brenden Queen, and finished fourth in 2023.
Woody Howard, who won the Hampton Heat in 2009, sits ninth in the Triple Crown standings following the South Boston 200. It was an impressive run for Howard considering he had not attempted to run the South Boston 200 since 2018.
Fredericksburg, Virginia’s Conner Jones rounds out the current top 10 in Triple Crown standings. Jones has made one Hampton Heat start in the past, which came in 2022 when he finished sixth. In CARS Tour competition, Jones has scored one top 10 finish at Langley when he finished 10th in 2021. Otherwise, he has finishes of 17th in 2022, 15th in 2024, and 11th earlier this season.
Saturday’s FloRacing broadcast from Langley Speedway will begin at 4 p.m. ET with qualifying set to follow at 4:15 p.m. ET. Racing will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET with the Legends for 25 laps and then the Super Streets for 75 laps. The Hampton Heat 200 is scheduled to take the green flag at 8:45 p.m. ET.
