The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returned to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday for the final night of the two-day 19th annual CMH Diamond Classic at the Wheatland, Mo., oval that's part of a seven-race, 10-day stretch for the series.

Charging from the sixth-starting spot, Brandon Sheppard took the Rocket Chassis house car team back to Lucas Oil victory lane for the second time over the last four series races. Sheppard's win came nearly four seconds over Hudson O'Neal.

Sheppard led the final 36 laps, taking the lead for good on lap 15 when he passed early leader and polesitter Gordy Gundaker, who led the first 14 laps before finishing seventh. After heat-race mechanical troubles forced him to a backup car and 23rd-starting spot, Jonathan Davenport salvaged an eighth-place finish on the night.
